Air Supply, the Las Vegas heating and air-conditioning company, has announced its Comfort You Can Gift Special.
For more than 20 years, Air Supply has provided air conditioning, heating, air quality and duct cleaning services.
Owned by David and Itzhak Dabul, the company has more than 40 highly skilled employees and provides same-day service, seven days a week.
For a limited time, Air Supply is offering a $49 buy-one-get-one special (regularly $99 each). This includes a complete heating inspection and tune-up, and you get a second one free to gift to a friend, neighbor or family member.
“The inspection is important before the winter hits to ensure peak operational efficiency, good air flow and safety, including checking for carbon monoxide leaks,” David Dabul said. “A fire or carbon monoxide leak can be very dangerous, and we take it very seriously. We certainly don’t rush things.”
Dabul recommends that every home’s HVAC system be checked at least once per year, especially homes that are 10 years old and older.
THE SHIFT TO ELECTRIC
HEAT PUMPS
Dabul also noted that many homeowners are choosing to upgrade from a gas furnace to a new, high-efficiency electric heat pump to save money on their bills, protect the environment, and because they are safer.
“There are a few cities where you can no longer even buy gas-burning units,” Dabul said. “We help educate homeowners on the advantages of upgrading from gas to electric, which is not always a great option.”
IMPROVING INDOOR AIR
QUALITY
Indoor air quality affects breathing for everyone, especially those with asthma and/or allergies, which is common for Las Vegas residents as it is so windy and dusty here, according to Michael Barnes, Air Supply’s air quality manager. Cleaning heating and air-conditioning systems and ductwork not only helps with air quality, but also ensures the equipment runs more efficiently.
“It’s preventative maintenance for the equipment, but also for the health portion of it by removing dust and very small particulates, which can be more dangerous,” Dabul said. “Cleaning should be done every two to four years or more in Las Vegas. Even in a very well-maintained house, we have dust and particulates that get into the air and accumulate in the HVAC systems over time. Keeping it clean and sanitized is very important.”
For a small, one-story home with one heating and air-conditioning system, the duct cleaning can cost about $29 per vent, with prices increasing for larger homes with multiple systems, Barnes said.
“We are reasonable and competitive when it comes to pricing, and we’ve been doing this for a very long time,” Barnes said. “It’s important to have an HVAC company do HVAC cleaning as opposed to a carpet-cleaning company doing air-conditioning work they might not be well-trained for.”
In addition to cleaning ductwork, good air quality options include ultraviolet light that eliminates bacteria and potential growth, including mold spores, or an ionizer that causes tiny particulates to clump together to be collected and disposed of by the filter, Barnes said.
AN AIR SCRUBBER
SOLUTION
The pandemic really opened people’s eyes to the importance of air quality. While less serious than viruses, the buildup of pollen and particulates still can make people feel unwell, he added.
“Right now, everything is circulating in your house, and it just builds and builds,” Barnes said. “Our ultimate air-quality solution is called an air scrubber, which cleans 99.9 percent of all germs and bacteria in the air and on surface areas. It’s an incredible product originally developed by NASA. We don’t have good quality air in Greater Las Vegas, and it affects everything about your quality of life, especially for the elderly.”
Barnes compared preventative maintenance on a home heating and air-conditioning system to maintenance for a car.
“It’s super important,” Barnes said. “If you take care of your car and get the oil changed, it runs better for you. If you service your HVAC system every year and clean your ductwork every two to four years, it will last longer and you are simply breathing better air.”
By being proactive with maintenance and cleaning, Barnes said they can catch many issues before they cause serious damage to the system, saving homeowners more expensive costs in the future. And there’s an extra benefit: For the moment, the company is including a free dryer vent cleaning, which can eliminate a huge safety hazard, Barnes said
