Physical therapy group buys local firm

Las Vegas-based Matt Smith Physical Therapy will become part of ATI Physical Therapy, which operates more than 400 clinics in 13 states.

The merger marks ATI’s entry into the Nevada market.

“We are merging our business with the leading platform in physical therapy. This partnership will allow us to grow and provide additional benefits and services to our patients,” said Matt Smith, president of the company that bears his name. “Our clients will continue to have the same wonderful care from our entire team. We hold steadfast to our vision of changing lives, and this ‘change’ will have a positive impact on all those we work with through our practice.”

Matt Smith will remain an owner within ATI, overseeing the Nevada market. Also, Lou Hillegass will serve as vice president of operations, managing Matt Smith Physical Therapy’s clinical functions. All 12 clinical locations and Matt Smith Physical Therapy personnel will remain in place.

ATI Physical Therapy will bring its expertise, experience in physical therapy, occupational therapy, work conditioning/hardening, functional capacity evaluations, sports medicine and employer worksite solutions.

“The addition of Matt Smith Physical Therapy is a natural fit for ATI, and we’re excited to welcome Matt Smith employees to our growing team,” ATI Physical Therapy Chief Clinical Operations Officer Brent Mack said. “As a leader in the Las Vegas area, Matt Smith is dedicated to the highest standards for patient care. Together, we will continue our patient-centered approach and look for future opportunities to impact the lives of more individuals.”
