Top Workplaces Nevada announces winners; specific rankings to be released later this year

Top Workplaces Nevada has announced its top companies for 2020. The specific rankings of companies and how they placed in the three categories — small, medium and large — will be announced at a special awards celebration, which will be held later this year.

The program identifies public, private, nonprofit or government organizations that excel at organizational health and employee engagement that have at least 35 employees in the state. The Las Vegas Review-Journal and Business Press, in partnership with Energage, offered a free assessment through a simple, scientifically sound and anonymous employee feedback survey, which was completed in February. Energage surveyed more than 16,000 employees at the Nevada companies that signed up for the program. In the end, 40 employers were chosen as Top Workplaces based on the survey feedback. The survey process was free, and each company received a free copy of the results from Energage.

Las Vegas Review-Journal Senior Director of Advertising Tom Heaton, who is heading up the campaign, said it is hoped the program will become an annual event for the Business Press and Review-Journal. He said the date for the awards ceremony will be announced this summer when the pandemic restrictions have been lifted.

“We are honored to help the Las Vegas business community come back from the COVID-19 shutdown. We look forward to celebrating these companies that are doing the best job they can at making their workplaces great for their employees,” Heaton said.

After five years, Las Vegas Business Press and Review-Journal have brought back and expanded Top Workplaces, which had a brief run in the Las Vegas area in 2013 and 2014 with the newspaper. Research firm Energage conducts Top Workplaces surveys for 50 major metro newspapers and surveyed more than 2 million employees at more than 7,000 organizations in 2019.

“We’ve seen tremendous enthusiasm for Top Workplaces throughout Nevada. Employers are eager to show they’ve created an environment where employees thrive,” said Bob Helbig, media partnerships director of Energage.

Energage, founded in 2006, is in Exton, Pennsylvania. A leader in organizational health research and SaaS-based human resource tools, Energage has reached more than 20 million employees from 60,000-plus organizations through its employee engagement platform, Top Workplaces program and workplace improvement solutions.
