Six honored for talent development

The Las Vegas chapter of the Association for Talent Development honored six local firms April 20 for its 2015 Tribute to Learning, which recognizes organizations for creativity, innovation and futuristic approaches to learning.

The association is dedicated to those who develop talent in organizations. Each year they look for the best learning leaders in Southern Nevada.

This year’s recipients were selected based on how well they modeled an area of expertise on the new competency model.

Winners were chosen according to the following areas of expertise:

▶ Performance improvement to Goodwill of Southern Nevada;

▶ Instructional design to Southwest Gas Corp.,

▶ Evaluating effect to Caesars Entertainment;

▶ Managing learning programs to Southwest Gas;

▶ Integrated talent management to Caesars;

▶ Coaching to workplace ESL Solutions;

▶ Training delivery to Janek Performance Group.

Nick Kane, managing partner at Las Vegas-based Janek Performance Group, said the company has been around for more than 10 years and focuses on sales performance for organizations including Cartier, State Farm, United Healthcare and MGM Resorts International.

“We work with organizations to identify areas in order to improve sales performance,” he said.

Kane said that Janek is humbled by the recognition.

“It’s a huge honor for us,” he said. “To be awarded by true learning professionals and our colleagues in the Las Vegas area is a huge recognition for us.”
