Blue Heron receives design award

Houzz, an online platform for home remodeling and design, honored Blue Heron of Las Vegas with its “Best Of Houzz” award for design. Houzz awards are given in two categories: design and customer satisfaction. The work of design award winners in 2014 was the most popular among the 25 million monthly users that comprise the Houzz community.

Vegas PBS Wins Telly Award

Vegas PBS has won a Telly Award for a public service announcement related to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting’s American Graduate initiative. The spot, supporting the “It Pays to Stay” campaign, features Jessica Suarez, a local student who had dropped out of high school but returned, because of the efforts of school administrators, Communities In Schools of Nevada coordinators and Suarez herself. The Telly Awards honor outstanding local, regional and cable television commercials and programs, video and film productions and web-based work. Business Academy celebrates anniversary

The Las Vegas Business Academy celebrated its fourth anniversary April 30 with a party at Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas. Honorees Michael Mina, founder of Mina Group, and Steve Weitman, senior vice president of Wynn Las Vegas/Encore, each received the organization’s Mastership Award. Each year, the board of directors recognizes Las Vegans who have proved to be influential leaders.

Bongiovi named MBA alumnus of the year

Attorney Gina Bongiovi was nominated Lee Business School’s 2015 MBA Alumnus of the Year. Bongiovi, a 2007 graduate of the UNLV JD/MBA program, is also a 2015 Business Press Rising Star.

Health care facilities recognized by foundation

The Nevada Health Care Association Perry Foundation “Endeavors” has recognized the top-performing health care facilities in Nevada. The southern Nevada recipients are Silver Ridge Health Care Center of Las Vegas, honored with the Gold Endeavors Award; Highland Manor of Mesquite, awarded the Silver Endeavors Award; and St. Joseph Transitional Rehabilitation Center of Las Vegas, awarded the Bronze Endeavors Award, each for quality of care excellence. The Perry Foundation works with its members to improve the quality of care in the state’s postacute care facilities. The second annual event was March 21, at Silverton.

The Herman Group companies have received national recognition for their continued growth and success as a top residential real estate firms. The Herman Group companies provide services to the Nevada, California, Colorado and Florida markets, and were recognized by the annual research reports, Real Trends 500, and RIS Media’s Power Broker as one of the nation’s top 500 residential real estate firms by volume and units in 2014.

Magazine honors Delano Las Vegas

Delano Las Vegas, which debuted in 2014, has been named one of the 60 hottest new hotels in the world by Condé Nast Traveler, a luxury travel magazine and website. Noting the boutique hotel’s design inspiration has been taken from the Nevada desert, and that many of the ingredients used in the hotel’s restaurant, Della’s Kitchen, are locally sourced, Condé Nast Traveler named Delano Las Vegas among its “favorite 60 hotels to debut in the past year.
