BANKING

David Hornung joined City National Bank as vice president and senior private client adviser in its private client services group in Las Vegas. Hornung joins the company with more than 17 years of experience in banking, trust and estate planning. He will address wealthy clients’ financial needs, including banking and lending, investments management and estate and financial planning.

CASINO

John Caparella, president and CEO of The Venetian, Palazzo and Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, named Kirsten Dimond vice president of operations for the Sands Expo and Convention Center. Dimond was vice president of hotel operations at The Venetian and Palazzo, a position she held since 2005. In that job, she provided strategic and collaborative focus for the front office, housekeeping, luxury services, resort services, guest services, groups and concierge teams.

CONSTRUCTION

Sallie Doebler joined the Las Vegas office of The Korte Co. Doebler has 10 years of experience in business development for construction companies in the Las Vegas market. Besides overseeing all business development and marketing efforts for commercial contractors, she established and managed her own local construction business development company.

EDUCATION

Stephanie Wragg, Ph.D., was named assistant dean for curriculum and assessment and associate professor of Biomedical Sciences for the College of Medicine at Roseman University of Health Sciences. Before joining the college, Wragg served as associate dean of curriculum and evaluation at Central Michigan University’s new College of Medicine. There she handled curriculum development, and evaluation and assessment of students, faculty and the program.

Kristi Overgaard, executive vice president of awesomeness for Switch and all Rob Roy Cos., was selected to serve as vice chairwoman of the Nevada State College Foundation’s board of trustees. In her professional role as executive vice president of awesomeness, Overgaard directs all creative aspects of the Switch and Rob Roy brands and culture development.

ENTERTAINMENT

Ross Miller, former Nevada Secretary of State, has joined Fine Entertainment as the company’s vice president of business development and general counsel. In his new position, Miller will oversee all new-business development opportunities for the company. He will also serve as general counsel for Fine Entertainment Management, the parent company of a portfolio of business interests that includes restaurants and bars, home and business security systems, marketing and advertising and software development.

Miller recently completed his second term as Nevada’s secretary of state. He is the youngest person ever elected secretary of state in Nevada.

FINANCE

Clark County Credit Union hired Julie Goe as the new lead of marketing operations. Goe will create and coordinate marketing campaigns and collateral, managing social media, internal and external event management and field marketing related inquiries. The company also named Aubrey Swanson as a new-member services representative. Swanson will help members open new accounts and will handle financial transactions at the branch.

LAW

Michael D. Falater joined Hutchison &Steffen as an associate attorney. His practice areas are insurance defense, construction law, appellate litigation, personal injury, family law, products liability, medical malpractice and health care professional’s advocacy. Before joining the firm, he defended employers, hospitals and transportation companies.

JAMS added Hon. Philip M. Pro to its panel. Judge Pro will be based in the JAMS Las Vegas Resolution Center and will serve as an arbitrator, mediator and special master in a variety of disputes including antitrust, business/commercial, class action/mass tort, employment, government/public entity, intellectual property, personal injury/torts and securities.

He joins the company after a distinguished federal judicial career that spanned nearly 35 years. He was a U.S. District judge for more than 27 years.

NONPROFIT

Clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist Danielle T. Bello, Ph.D., joined Cure 4 The Kids Foundation. She will become the foundation’s first full-time, in-house licensed psychologist and neuropsychologist, serving patients of the Children’s Specialty Center of Nevada and the Hemophilia Treatment Center of Nevada. She also fulfills the foundation’s mission to bring an ever-increasing variety of pediatric and adolescent medical experts to patients in one location.

REAL ESTATE

BH Properties, which has projects in Las Vegas, has promoted Steven Jaffe to chief investment officer and principal. He will oversee the company’s acquisition and disposition strategy and shepherd the company’s overall growth. As a seasoned veteran in the commercial real estate investment industry, he has been closely involved in the firm’s acquisition strategy in the Southwest. Many of the properties acquired were distressed assets that the firm repositioned, including office space, retail centers, industrial complexes as well as multifamily properties.

Jaffe has been with BH Properties for 11 years, previously holding the title of executive vice president and general counsel.
