Jarvis hails from over seven years of experience in relationship management and business banking, including serving as business development officer and senior branch relationship banker with Nevada State Bank. HEALTH CARE

• Comprehensive Cancer Centers (Comprehensive) has announced the hiring of two board-certified physician assistants, Valerie Chang and Nicholas Tieu.

— Chang, MMS, PA-C, OMD, see patients at Comprehensive’s Southwest – Southern Hills treatment center, 9280 W. Sunset Road, where she interprets diagnostic tests, such as X-rays or blood tests, helps diagnose patient illness, provides treatment and educates patients and their families on a variety of issues, such as treatment and self-care. Chang holds a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology from Portland State University, a master’s degree in medical science in physician assistant studies from Midwestern University and a Master of Science in oriental medicine from Wongu University.

— Tieu, PA-C, works out of Comprehensive’s Central Valley – Twain treatment center, 3730 S. Eastern Ave. Prior to joining Comprehensive, he worked as an ophthalmic technician in San Francisco. During this time, he discovered his passion for patient care and education, which lead to the pursuit of a master’s degree in physician assistant studies. Tieu graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor of Science in biology with a focus in physiology before obtaining a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Touro University Nevada.

• Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Nevada, a leading managed care provider of health benefits for Nevada residents enrolled in the state’s Medicaid program, announced today that Joy Thomas has been named president of its Medicaid health plan.

In her new role, Thomas assumes responsibility for all aspects of Anthem’s Medicaid health plan operations in Nevada, ensuring its more than 203,000 members receive access to innovative, high-quality health care and support services. She will lead efforts to strengthen relationships in the community with state leaders, providers and other key stakeholders.

Thomas is a managed care industry veteran, bringing more than 28 years of health care experience and executive leadership to the role. Most recently, she served as the regional vice president of provider solutions for Anthem’s Nevada health plan providing strategic expertise in the field of provider contracting, servicing and engagement. She has successfully piloted initiatives related to network strategy, contracting and quality and value-based programs.

She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in health care management from Northeastern University. She represents the Health Insurance Carrier in the Commissioner’s Network Adequacy Advisory Council at the Nevada Division of Insurance.

TRANSPORTATION

• All In Aviation has announced the expansion of its flight instructor team with the hiring of two new female certified flight instructors, Eliana Rau and Dana Callis, as well as the promotion of Presley Mittelstadt to flight training coordinator, underscoring the company’s commitment to boosting women’s representation within the industry.

Her expanded duties include developing client relationships, guiding students toward their aviation goals, managing recruitment and discovery flights, providing student support, matching students with instructors, and overseeing the flight schedule. Receiving her private pilot’s license from All In Aviation, Mittelstadt brings firsthand student experience to her position.

— Rau, an alumna of Faith Lutheran High School and its Oder Family Flight Academy, achieved her commercial pilot’s license before completing high school. She further honed her skills at 702 Helicopters, obtaining her private and instrument pilot licenses, as well as her flight instructor certification. Since entering the aviation industry, Rau has accumulated substantial experience in training aspiring pilots across various age groups, providing comprehensive instruction in ground operations, flight simulators, and aircraft.

— Callis’s lifelong passion for aviation led her to Southern Utah University in Cedar City, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in aviation science with Magna Cum Laude honors. Her academic expertise spans aerodynamics, aeromedical science, aircraft systems and human factors/safety studies. Callis obtained her private pilot license in January 2022 through Cactus Aviation in Henderson and has since expanded her qualifications earning her commercial pilot license with instrument rating, complex and high-performance endorsements, as well as multiple flight instructor certifications (CFI, CFII, MEI, and AGI), bringing a vast amount of experience to All In Aviation’s team of Certified Flight Instructors.
