ON THE MOVE: Marker Trax names vice president of product

Russell Byrd

FINANCE

• Cashless technology trailblazer Marker Trax announced the hiring of Russell Byrd as new vice president of product. A 30-year gaming and technology veteran, Byrd joins the company to oversee development and management of Marker Trax’ product portfolio, including the innovative B2C brand Moolah Play by Marker Trax. He takes on an instrumental role in helping to increase the company’s sector leadership position, and foster partnerships across the country. With a proven track record in product development, monetization and strategic planning, he has been instrumental in launching and optimizing product lines for major industry players, including Electronic Arts, Scientific Games and Aristocrat, successfully expanding digital product footprints, and leading implementation of groundbreaking customer features.

“Russell brings incredible depth of experience in both gaming specifically and product management overall to the team, and will be an incredible asset to our continued growth,” said Marker Trax President Charlie Skinner. “Innovating and truly redefining the gaming experience for the digital age is our company’s core area of focus. Russell’s own career has followed that same path, so we’re thrilled to have him on board.”

Byrd has helped spearhead the launch of several top-grossing social casino products, leading entry into the digital payments space for Aristocrat, and managing cashless payments integration solutions into multiple jurisdictions around the country, among other accomplishments. This experience will be key, Skinner added, as Marker Trax continues expanding Moolah Play’s presence throughout the industry.

Before joining Marker Trax, Byrd led Aristocrat’s iGaming and B2B Social Casino divisions, where he managed the development and launch of over 100 digital titles and helped build a $20 million revenue stream in the first year of operations. He also played a pivotal role in establishing Aristocrat’s position in the regulated iGaming market across North America.

Marker Trax is a cashless, digital alternative to a casino marker. The product is the first of its kind to offer regulatory-compliant casino marker technology that takes inefficiency out of issuing advances and provides casinos with the tools to manage their casino credit underwriting and repayments. Developed and patented by the company’s founder, Gary Ellis, in 2018, Marker Trax makes for a more efficient gaming experience for players. The Marker Trax system allows players to be scored and given access to their markers in minutes. Marker Trax integrates into casino operating systems, allowing for easy start-up and player tracking.
