ON THE MOVE: NDOW names new division administrator

Jasmine Kleiber

GOVERNMENT

• The Nevada Department of Wildlife announced Jasmine Kleiber as the department’s new Wildlife Diversity Division administrator. The division protects and manages hundreds of Nevada’s non-game wildlife species, including at-risk and sensitive species.

“We are extremely fortunate to have someone of Jasmine’s caliber and experience to step up and lead our Wildlife Diversity Division,” said Alan Jenne, director for the Nevada Department of Wildlife. “Her passion for all things wild in Nevada is evident in everything she does, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her lead this division into the future.”

Kleiber, a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno with a bachelor’s degree in conservation biology and a master’s degree focusing on small watershed hydrology, has spent the majority of her career working across the Great Basin. She has worked as a contract biologist for the Department of Defense, an environmental scientist for the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection, and in the private sector as an environmental consultant for Stantec (formerly JBR Environmental Consultants).

Kleiber began working for NDOW in 2015 in the Habitat Division serving as a partner biologist (a cooperative position between NDOW and the Natural Resources Conservation Service) working across private lands in Nevada. In 2017 she began as a Wildlife Staff Specialist overseeing NDOW’s statewide Technical Review Program and associated federal grant, a job she has held until now.

• The Neon Museum has appointed four new directors to its leadership team. This includes Sarah Hulme as deputy director, Dr. Matt Borek as director of lifelong learning, David Rand as director of Guest Experience and JoAnn Arguello as director of finance.

“The Neon Museum welcomed more than 200,000 guests last year and introduced new educational programs like STEAM Saturdays and RACHEL. With the rapid expansion, this requires experts who can manage the museum’s growing footprint, scale and reach,” said Neon Museum Executive Director Aaron Berger. “The museum would not be able to achieve these things without strong leaders who can build, manage and execute new innovative programming. These four individuals’ expertise will be monumental in our growth.”

Additional details on the newly designated executives include:

— Hulme has been a member of The Neon Museum team since 2022, her new position oversees the operational aspects of the museum, including the front of house guest experience, lifelong learning programing for families, students and older adults, technology, facilities and human resources. His career began in the classroom as a secondary music teacher. He then transitioned to higher education and worked in state agencies on education reform and policy. Borek received his Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from Boston College

— With more than 20 years of experience operating museums, attractions and entertainment, Rand will lead The Neon Museum while developing high-performing teams through ingenuity, innovation and employee engagement.
