Bill Meyer, one of the foundational leaders of Republic Services Inc., has been inducted into the National Waste and Recycling Association’s Hall of Fame. During his 20-year tenure with Republic Services, Meyer’s leadership helped to shape the organization.
In 1974, Meyer became an owner of Able Disposal, the largest independently operated company in Northwest Indiana.
He sold Able Disposal to Republic Services in 1996, and joined the company as an area president for Northern Indiana and Western Michigan. He later became a vice president at Republic before his retirement in 2015. Meyer was honored in Las Vegas at Waste Expo, America’s largest annual industry tradeshow.
NDVS staff honored with awards
Nevada State Veterans Home staff members Mary Lambert, Poppy Helgren and DiAnn Lawson were honored June 8 with Southern Nevada Endeavor Awards, presented by the Nevada Health Care Association’s Perry Foundation.
Lambert, rehab program manager, was named extraordinary therapist; Helgren, director of nursing, won ‘Outstanding Nurse Leader’ and Lawson was Certified Nurse Assistant of the Year.

Martinez &Associates
Century 21 Martinez &Associates of Las Vegas is one of two Century 21 affiliates in the nation honored with the “2100 Club Award” for system-best transaction growth earned in 2015. Juan Martinez was presented the award by Rick Davidson, president and CEO of Century 21, at Montage Laguna Beach from June 6 to 9 in Southern California.
The event featured top brokers from within the C21 System exploring strategies on how to best leverage the brand’s market momentum and its platform of services and products that help their affiliated sales associates manage more leads and win additional business. The other affiliate honored is Century 21 Affiliated of Madison, Wisconsin.
