2018 Silver Nugget award winners

The Southern Nevada Home Builders Association and the Las Vegas Review-Journal held its fifth annual Silver Nugget Awards June 23 at the JW Marriott. Retired Pardee Homes executive Rocky Cochran received the Lifetime Achievement Award. For the first time in the history of the awards, an attached housing product — Vu Residence 3 — won Best Home of the Year. The Best Custom Home of the Year went to Serenity by Sun West custom Homes. Both are in MacDonald Highlands in Henderson. The Best Community went to Pulte Homes’ Reverence in Summerlin.

There were more than 150 nominations for this year’s competition. More than 400 people, representing various sections of the Las Vegas homebuilding industry, attended the event. The judges were David Baird, UNLV School of Architecture; Lita Dirks, Denver-based Lita Dirks & Co.; and Louise Try, publisher of new home guides in Charleston, South Carolina, and Charlotte, North Carolina.
