Calanit Atia

C alanit Atia says her business reflects a love affair with Vegas.

“When I was 15, I came to America and I saw Vegas. I fell in love completely,” she said. “Still today, I drive on the Strip and still have a thrill of being here.”

She came to America from Israel, where she served in the Israeli Air Force during the Gulf War. She is a proud graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

From a young age, she said, she learned to be focused on her goals.

She said life is about having dreams and going after them.

For Atia, those dreams included founding A to Z Events, a Las Vegas destination management and entertainment company.

“Quality is the essence of everything we do in life,” she said. At A to Z Events, “we deliver the best. Even when nobody sees it, our high standard of quality control is the key to our success.

“Giving the clients the tools to see the product and services they are buying, with A to Z Events’ interactive website which has pictures, videos and music, is the real key to success.”

“Our clients trust us,” she said. “Honor is very important. … I’m successful because people know they can trust me and I am there for them.”

Atia’s event planning business has grown for the past 14 years and evolved.

The recession had a major impact on her event planning business, but Atia declared “this will not defeat me.”

She developed the worldwide modeling directory conventionmodelsdirectory.com, where clients and model connect directly.

“Life, it is about looking at opportunities,” she said, “not laying down to die.”

Her determination, creative mind, and hard work “got me out of the recession and made me successful once again.”

Social media is an important aspect to her business and her personal branding. She devotes a specific scheduled time to attend to it and doesn’t let it interfere with her personal life.

“You have to develop, balance your life” so it’s OK to turn off the electronics, she said. “That’s why I’m so happy… I develop my personal life, I rarely work on Saturdays unless I have an event.” She said, “if I sit and check my email while I’m with you, then I miss you. In life, it is important to be present.”
