Friends of Henderson Libraries donates $39,000 to district

The Friends of Henderson Libraries donated $39,000 — the amount raised during the 2014 Library Tree Lane gala — to Henderson Libraries, the highest amount raised at the event since its inception in 2004.

Library Tree Lane is the largest fundraising event hosted by the Friends of Henderson Libraries each year. The annual winter event includes seasonal sales of holiday items and chance drawing tickets, culminating with a gala reception in December.

The gala is attended by more than 500 community and library supporters every year. Proceeds from the event benefit Henderson Libraries’ youth services by providing funds for books and materials for the Tots-to-Teens program.

The Friends of Henderson Libraries meets at 10 a.m. monthly on the fourth Tuesday at the Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway.
