Micaela Rustia Moore

▶ Company: Fox Rothschild LLP

▶ What do you REALLY do? Majority of restructuring work requires a team of professionals and I often am the one playing “air traffic controller.” Typically, I delegate work, coordinate information to and from the client(s) and attorneys/staff working on the matter and other parties, keep everyone focused and on target and make sure tasks get done on time. If I am not taking the laboring oar on a project, I usually incorporate others’ work products into a cohesive masterpiece.

▶ What’s the best part of your job: The ability to fix failed businesses or instances of failed judgment is hugely satisfying. Also, at the risk of sounding like a total geek, I love that bankruptcy law offers endless intellectual challenges and that it is a high energy area of law that is equally transactional and litigation across a broad range of practices.

▶ What accomplishment in the past year are you most proud of: Committing to and maintaining a healthy lifestyle after eight years of excuses and/or indifference to health and exercise.

▶ Where’s the best place to network: Industry events/conferences

▶ Facebook or LinkedIn: LinkedIn

▶ Favorite off-work activity: Playing with my kids

▶ What’s your favorite professional association, community or charitable involvement: Junior League of Las Vegas

▶ What do you drive: 2012 Silver Infiniti QX56

▶ Beer or wine: Wine!

▶ What do you want to be doing in 2025: Professionally, being a trailblazer in bankruptcy law; personally, finally going on that long overdue honeymoon with my husband.

▶ What’s the best advice you’ve received: While my husband usually says this to our children — “you have two ears and one mouth for a reason”— all relationships can benefit from the oft-underestimated power of listening.

▶ How do you define success: In the words of the accomplished Maya Angelou, “Success is liking yourself, liking what you do and liking how you do it.”
