Payment security and compliance services firm Payment Software Co. is expanding its operations in Nevada.
The Campbell, Calif.-based company specializes in forensic investigations, payment card industry (PCI) assessments, focused penetration testing, and system security with an emphasis on restaurant and resort operations. It also has experience with travel and airlines, casino gaming enterprises, and consulting companies in support of retail operations.
The recent breach at Trump Hotel Collection signaled the need here, the company said.
"Having local expert staff working within Nevada will bring a new level of information security services to resort and hospitality businesses," Tony Bates, president and CFO of PSC, said in a statement. "Our teams have worked directly with the FBI and U.S. Secret Service investigating recent attacks on Nevada resorts. Our job is to not only help our customers comply with security standards but to put in realistic processes and procedures to ensure security can be maintained."

Cox Communications funding LVGEA
The Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance, a public-private partnership focused on growing the economy in Southern Nevada, has received a three-year, $500,000 commitment from Cox Communications-Las Vegas to support the organizationâs regional economic development, business recruitment, research and outreach efforts.
Cox Las Vegasâ commitment is the single largest investment in LVGEA-led economic development efforts this year and qualifies the telecom company as a Pinnacle Level investor in the LVGEA.
"Cox is immensely proud of its long-term view on economic growth in Southern Nevada and is thoroughly committed to its vision as evidenced by this three-year pledge to support the LVGEA," Michael Bolognini, market vice president of Cox Communications-Las Vegas, said in a statement. "Weâre a community company, and we believe in the economic strength that business leaders and their organizations can create when they work together."
Cox Las Vegas has supported Southern Nevadaâs regional economic development efforts since 2001. In addition, Derrick R. Hill, vice president of Cox Business / Hospitality Network, became a member of the LVGEA Board of Directors last October and was subsequently voted into an executive committee role in 2015. Cox Business is the business-to-business division of Cox Communications.

Rapid Refill becomes Vegas Ink and Toner
Rapid Refill of Las Vegas has changed its name to Vegas Ink and Toner as part of a rebranding initiative after the recent purchase of the local operations of the national Rapid Refill franchise.
"Our company started as part of a national franchise, and over the years weâve worked hard to become ingrained in the local community," Larry Goldstein, owner of Vegas Ink and Toner, said in a statement. "Gaining our independence allows us to better serve our customers, and the name change better reflects our position in the local market."
The company has been in Las Vegas since 2007. While the company‘s operations will stay the same, the name change and rebranding will be effective immediately in all aspects of the business.
Vegas Ink and Toner, at 7375 S. Durango Drive, Suite 106, will maintain a retail store while specializing in printer repair and eco-friendly line of ink and toner cartridges.
