Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance has new officers

The Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance has chosen new officers and added four new members to its board of directors.

Officers include Chairman Ray Specht, vice chairman of Toyota Financial Savings Bank; Vice Chairman John Delikanakis, partner of Snell & Wilmer, and Treasurer Kirk Clausen, Nevada region president of Wells Fargo.

The LVGEA is a membership organization dedicated to growing the economy in Southern Nevada through connectivity, community development, and business recruitment, retention and outreach.

The board of directors elected executive committee officers and committee chairs to one-year terms at its recent meeting.

Bylaws committee chair is Frank Woodbeck, executive director, Nevada College Collaborative, Nevada System of Higher Education; compensation committee chair is Richard T. Crawford, president and founder, Green Valley Grocery; nominating and governance committee chair is Derrick Hill, vice president of Cox Business/Hospitality Network, Las Vegas; public policy committee chair is Glenn C. Christenson, managing director, Velstand Investments LLC; and strategic planning committee chair is Jeff Parker, vice president, Manpower Inc. of Southern Nevada.

The LVGEA also added as directors Dave Cheval, division president at Stewart Title; Jennifer Dehaven, president and CEO, Millennium Staffing; Spencer Stewart, chancellor of Western Governors University; and Clark Wood, market president at U.S. Bank.

The LVGEA board has grown to 42 members as part of the LVGEA’s “Drive to 50” campaign. The campaign is an initiative to assemble a diverse, knowledgeable and talented group of leaders who can be catalysts for industry diversification and community development projects that will benefit the region.

Olson joins OSHA Review Board

Gov. Brian Sandoval appointed Sandy Olson, vice president/general counsel of Roche Constructors Inc., as a management member of the five-member Occupational Safety & Health Administration Review Board for the State of Nevada.

Olson will participate in hearings and make decisions on pending OSHA cases monthly in Reno and Las Vegas. Her four-year term will expire June 2019. She previously served as the alternate member on the board.
