Trimble named inaugural Lionel professor of law

The University of Nevada Las Vegas’ William S. Boyd School of Law named Marketa Trimble as the inaugural Samuel S. Lionel Professor of Intellectual Property Law. An investiture ceremony marking the official award of the new professorship took place Feb. 4 at Thomas & Mack Moot Court Facility. Trimble’s comparative, doctrinal and empirical work draws on her research experience and governmental expertise, with a focus on international intellectual property law and transnational disputes over intellectual property. The professorship is named after Lionel, a legendary litigator and director at Fennemore Craig who has served as a mentor to lawyers, law professors, and law students for more than six decades.

Solutions Recovery cited as LGBT leader

Solutions Recovery Inc. has been recognized as a leader in LGBT healthcare equality by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, the educational arm of the country’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization. The honor is given to facilities that meet LGBT-inclusive benchmarks that are part of the HRC Foundation’s Healthcare Equality Index, a survey that encourages equal care for LGBT Americans by evaluating inclusive policies and practices related to LGBT patients, visitors and employees. Solutions Recovery earned top marks in meeting nondiscrimination and training criteria that demonstrate its commitment to equitable, inclusive care for LGBT patients, and their families, who can face significant challenges in securing the quality health care and respect they deserve.

PRSA selects directors

The Public Relations Society of America’s Las Vegas Valley chapter named its board of directors for 2016. As the largest local organization serving the public relations community, the chapter’s aims to provide news trends and information, thought leadership, continuing education and networking opportunities and to set the standards of professional excellence and ethical conduct. The chapter’s 2016 board of directors includes president, Kurt Ouchida, managing partner, BRAINtrust; president-elect, Andrew Doughman, vice president of communication strategies, TSC2 Group; immediate past president, Melody Crickman, marketing and communications director, Touro University Nevada; vice president of programs, Melissa Mirich, president, Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic School Parent Teacher Organization; vice president of membership, Cara Clarke, associate vice president-communications, Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce; vice president of communications, Shaundell Newsome, founder, Sumnu Marketing; and vice president of finance, Kevin Malone, public information officer, Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles.
