EDUCATION
The Clark County School District has hired Jason A. Goudie as its chief financial officer. Goudie will succeed Dr. Eva White, who has been serving as interim CFO since January. White announced her retirement last week, effective Aug. 1.
Goudie is an accomplished senior executive with broad experience in developing and implementing key strategic, tactical and financial initiatives for organizations with a view toward growing revenues, managing compliance and internal controls, maximizing operating efficiencies and reducing costs. He is currently vice president of financial and operations strategies for Accretive Consulting in Las Vegas.
Goudie’s previous experience includes serving as CFO of Tropicana Las Vegas, Aristocrat Technologies, Black Gaming, The M Resort and Marnell Sher Gaming. He also was internal audit director for Harrah’s Entertainment and experienced audit manager for Arthur Andersen. Goudie earned his Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
CCSD Chief Operating Officer Rick Neal said, “Mr. Goudie is eminently qualified to serve as CFO of the nation’s fifth-largest school district. This is an especially critical position right now in CCSD because of the district’s reorganization. Mr. Goudie will be instrumental in our efforts to be more transparent with our budget and put more funds in school budgets.”

Eventure, LLC Modern Event Specialists hired Brooke Welton earlier this year and has recently promoted her to director of tournaments and events. Welton brings more than a dozen years of hotel accommodation experience and recently worked more than 10 years in sales and marketing for five local Marriott brand hotels. Her addition to our team accompanied with her tenure in the valley and industry enhances the customer service that Eventure already provides its customers nationally and internationally.
REAL ESTATE
Luxury real estate team Shapiro & Sher Group has appointed Nicole Tomlinson to head its High Rise Division. Tomlinson sold $25 million in Las Vegas real estate, last year, and has been involved in more than $800 million in real estate transactions since she started working in the industry in 2004. Prior to joining Shapiro & Sher Group, she was president of Northcap Residential where she oversaw the company’s residential division. During her tenure there, she managed sales for Palms Place Condominiums and made it the top-selling high-rise building in Las Vegas from 2015-2016.
“Nicole’s deep knowledge of the Las Vegas high-rise market made her a perfect fit to head up our new High Rise Division,” said Ivan Sher, principal of Shapiro & Sher Group, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Nevada Properties.
Tomlinson began her real estate career in 2004 at American Invsco, a large condominium developer, where she worked in their West Coast acquisition division. She then joined Scripps Resources International Inc. and later formed her own company as a DBA to Scripps. Her company closed more than 400 transactions in two years providing services primarily for the residential market, including dispositions for Fannie Mae, short sales, traditional sales and property management.
The Nevada native holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She supports the Marty Hennessey Inspiring Children Foundation and has been a board member since 2010. Last year, she opened Operation North Pole at Tivoli Village, a 3,000-square-foot interactive holiday experience. Operation North Pole allowed many underprivileged children in Las Vegas to experience the magic of the holidays.
