The winner as the top workplace for companies with less than 150 employees is a newcomer to Las Vegas and is centered around technology.
LinkGraph, a digital marketing agency with cutting-edge SEO software and white-glove agency services, specializes in technical SEO, link building, paid media management and conversion rate optimization.
From tech start-ups and small businesses to enterprise-level organizations, the company has helped brands of all sizes with their growth and revenue goals.
Director of Marketing Sophia Deluz said the company started in New York City but relocated to Las Vegas at the end of 2019 just prior to the pandemic because the owner, Manick Bhan, thought it would be a great opportunity to hire competitive talent.
“One of our senior employees moved to Vegas asking if he could work remotely,” Deluz said. “Manick came out to visit him and realized Vegas is a great city teeming with talent. It didn’t seem like there was a lot of competition with tech companies. He thought if we set up shop here with our competitive benefits and what we offer and company culture that we could retain the top talent here. He was right.”
The company, which brought two people from New York, hired locally has just under 20 employees in Las Vegas, It has 150 clients across the country and internationally.
“What we do for them is full-service SEO campaigns and help them get discovered on the first page of Google,” Deluz said. “We help them with their website and content strategy. The second aspect of what we do is build SEO software, allowing you to look at analytics for how your website is performing. It can crawl your site and find errors and broken links. We have a content optimizer that is AI (artificial intelligence) and helps generate content. It has keywords Google will find and attribute to your site.”
Deluz said the company is a top workplace because of its culture and offering benefits that are unique.
LinkGraph offers unlimited paid time off. It offers fully covered health insurance and dental care premiums. It also has eye surgery benefits for Lasik surgery. Other benefits include pet health insurance and what’s called a kindness budget.
“We give people prepaid debit cards, and the only rule is they have to spend it on other teammates,” Deluz said.
“That could be bringing in treats for the office or sending remote teammates gifts. I had experience at working at different companies wishing that they invested more and how they relate to the team and how the team relates to each other. It’s something we really tried to focus on.”
LinkGraph has always had a hybrid work model where people could work from home two days a week even before the COVID-19 pandemic, Deluz said. “It wasn’t a huge shock for us when we transitioned into working remotely to be on the safe side for many months during COVID,” Deluz said. “But we have done things to solidify our company culture because we had a lot of people virtually. We have something called good news Friday where at a staff meeting people share a piece of professional good news and share a piece of personal good news. We have some heartwarming team-bonding activities and those helped us because we had them in place before COVID. Our company culture stays pretty strong even though we worked remotely, but now, we’re back in the office a couple of days a week. Everyone is glad to be back and have that in-person energy.”
Deluz said what’s she most proud of about LinkGraph, is that they’re committed to social impact. She said she came from a nonprofit background and loves that they’re committed to donating a significant share of revenue every month to nonprofits.
“That is something our employees really appreciate,” Deluz said. “We also allow employees to nominate different charities that we can donate to. Last year, we donated more than $150,000, and this year we’d like to double that number. At the end of the day, there’s only so much money you can make that will make a significant impact on your personal life. The thing we are most focused on is we want to look back and say we had a huge impact (on the community). I think it motivates the team to be a part of that because they don’t feel it’s a pursuit of just money but is part of something bigger.”
