PEF also embarked on a new partnership with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) to fast-track school paraprofessionals to obtain their teaching licenses and help reduce Clark County’s teacher shortage. This partnership also includes the sale of PEF’s building on Maryland Parkway to UNLV, which additionally resulted in the opening of the PEF Teacher Superstore’s new location, which has provided millions of dollars in free and low-cost school supplies to teachers and their students.
