The Lincoln Dynamic Foundation, the collaborative community organization dedicated to generating positive change and creating a healthier future for youth and the planet, announces its first VIVA (Vegas Investing in Visionary Action). This high-energy philanthropic event takes place Oct. 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Space LV.
VIVA brings philanthropic funders together with nonprofit organizations, which present lightning-style pitches — think “Shark Tank” for nonprofits. The groups will outline their ”why” — the problem they aim to solve, their innovative approach, proof of impact and vision for the next six to 12 months. Based on the strength of their pitches, winning nonprofits are awarded grants on the spot. This year’s participating nonprofits will include Positively Arts, NF Network, Opioid Free America, Collaboration Center Foundation, Hope Means Nevada, The Nature Conservancy Nevada, The Ability Center, Lighthouse Charities, Green Our Planet, Without Limits and the Ashley Strong Foundation.
To be emceed by WWE ring announcer and Vegas Golden Knights host Mark Shunock, the event offers an energetic setting for immediate impact, setting it apart from other grant-making opportunities. VIVA streamlines collaboration and emphasizes near-term goals to enable promising ideas to scale faster.
“VIVA is unlike anything else in philanthropy — — it’s exciting, fast-moving and incredibly impactful,” said Kat Klehm, executive director, Lincoln Dynamic Foundation. “We are bringing together nonprofits, funders and community members in a room filled with energy and generosity, and the result is real, lasting change for Southern Nevada.”
