C-SUITE SPOTLIGHT: Meet Don Kuhl of Douglas Elliman, Nevada

Updated February 10, 2026 - 1:25 pm

Don Kuhl is the broker of record and executive manager of sales for Douglas Elliman’s Nevada region. He is responsible for leading and growing established agents and ensuring they have the tools, mentorship and strategic support to serve clients at the highest level. He also oversees operational excellence, compliance and contracts, agent performance and brand representation across the region.

“Everything we do reflects on Douglas Elliman’s national reputation and its elevated standard of service,” Kuhl said. “My job is to protect and uphold that.”

Q: What is your background in real estate?

A: I have been part of the Las Vegas real estate community for 22 years. I have worked across every aspect of the industry, from brokerage leadership to agent development and sales strategy. Before joining Douglas Elliman, I spent many years shaping brokerage operations in Nevada and building relationships in the luxury, new development and high-end residential markets. My focus has always been agent professionalism and improving the client experience, and that’s one of the things that ultimately brought me to Douglas Elliman. The company shares that same philosophy, and it has been a strong fit for our marketplace.

Q: How did Douglas Elliman come to be in this marketplace?

A: Douglas Elliman entered Nevada as part of its Western expansion strategy, recognizing Las Vegas and Southern Nevada for their long-term growth and economic diversification. They saw a strong influx of high-net-worth individuals relocating to the state. That’s one of the hallmarks of Douglas Elliman. The firm has been around since 1911 and has a deep presence in key luxury markets across the country; so Nevada fit squarely into that strategy as they moved West. Las Vegas has become a premier destination for primary, secondary and luxury homeowners. We’re seeing significant relocations from across the West Coast, with many buyers choosing Nevada as their full-time residence, not just a second home.

Q: What else is the focus of the brokerage?

A:A major focus is large-scale development and comprehensive marketing support. Douglas Elliman has a significant presence in that space, and it has served the company extremely well. The strength of that platform — particularly in markets like Florida and New York, with more than $25 billion in development in the pipeline — gives our agents a distinct advantage.

Q: What does Douglas Elliman add to the Las Vegas marketplace?

A: We’re a national luxury brand with more than 100 years of heritage that we can leverage and connect to key markets in a way very few brokerages can. We are highly concentrated and strongest in those markets. Bringing that network to Las Vegas is something that didn’t exist here previously, along with a truly full-service marketing platform. We are also very selective in our recruiting. We have no intention of being a house of 1,000 agents. The level of professionalism we maintain is one of our defining strengths.

Q: What are you looking for with your team?

A: Integrity comes first. I’m looking for people who consistently put the client ahead of the transaction. We have many agents who are strong practitioners with that mindset already in place. We’re seeking seasoned professionals who take their craft seriously and are committed to continued improvement, client service and long-term business growth. We value agents who are deeply involved in the Las Vegas community and well-established in the marketplace, as well as those who are motivated to elevate their market knowledge and professionalism.

Q: How many offices do you have and what are your staffing levels?

A: We have our Downtown Summerlin office and our Henderson office at Dragon Ridge Country Club, with a total of 57 agents supported by a staff of six.

Q: How is Douglas Elliman performing in the marketplace?

A: We are consistently ranked among the top three luxury brokerages in terms of sales volume above $2 million. We have built a very strong team that includes some of the top agents in the market, such as Kristen Routh-Silberman, Michelle Sullivan, Avi Dan Goor and Robin Compagno. We’ve established a meaningful presence in a relatively short period of time and look forward to being a longstanding part of the Las Vegas community.

Q: What initiatives are planned by the company in 2026?

A: 2026 is shaping up to be an exciting year for Douglas Elliman both nationally and here in Nevada. Our new CEO, Michael S. Liebowitz, is focused on operational efficiency and smart, strategic growth across key markets. At the regional level, that translates into enhanced agent resources, including expanded technology and marketing capabilities. We’re also focused on growing our luxury footprint in the West, with Nevada as one of the primary markets for expansion. In addition, we’ll continue to build on our global partnerships and further elevate our community development representation, with a stronger emphasis on Nevada.

Q: What are your expectations for the real estate market in 2026, and specifically the luxury market and why?

A: I expect 2026 is going to be a stabilizing year. Interest rates should normalize around the 6 percent range, and I believe overall sales volume will increase compared to 2025. The luxury market in Nevada will continue to outperform, driven by ongoing migration from California, the Pacific Northwest and parts of the Northeast. Nevada’s tax environment continues to demonstrate its value, and major investments in sports and hospitality are elevating our global profile. I anticipate pricing will hold and modestly increase. I don’t foresee a retreat, and overall, I think it will be a strong year.

Q: What is Douglas Elliman doing in terms of community involvement and philanthropy?

A:We’re strong supporters of Habitat for Humanity and host a golf tournament every April. We also work closely with Three Square and will be partnering this year with New Vista Ranch, which supports individuals with developmental disabilities. Our agents are very engaged in the community and support a wide range of charitable causes.
