Sam Mirejovsky and Ash Watkins, co-founders of Sam & Ash Injury Law, are making an impact in Southern Nevada, emphasizing personal injury law. Mirejovsky has more than 20 years of experience in personal injury law, and Watkins began her legal career working on behalf of insurance companies. Under their leadership, their firm has recovered more than $500 million for their clients. The two also host the popular “Eat. Talk. Repeat.” podcast, a foodie journey through Southern Nevada’s dining scene that they host with Las Vegas’ renowned food critic, John Curtas.
Q: Why did you open Sam & Ash Injury Law?
Ash Watkins: As a former insurance defense attorney, I’ve seen firsthand how insurance companies are constantly finding new ways to deny their obligations to injury victims. A good attorney must constantly evolve to stay ahead. To get justice for our clients, we make sure our law firm is a constant work in progress, creating solutions before problems arise to ensure injury victims get the justice they deserve.
Q: What is the philosophy of the firm?
Ash Watkins: Our firm’s philosophy is simple: “Because You Deserve What’s Right.” Personal injury isn’t about ego or quick promises; it’s about fairness and supporting those who’ve been hurt. With integrity, experience and compassion, we are redefining advocacy by offering genuine, reliable support.
Sam Mirejovsky: We’re not just lawyers but champions for justice, setting a new standard in personal injury representation with transparency.
Q: What is your background, and why did you enter the law?
Sam Mirejovsky:Ash Watkins and I have different backgrounds, but we’ve arrived at this place in our careers because of a similar ideal of standing up for those who have been injured. I’m the child of legal immigrants who fled communist Czechoslovakia to give me and my siblings a chance at the American dream. I chose law to provide a voice to those in need.
Q: Who is Rockford Bean Sam Watkins, aka “Rocky?”
Ash Watkins: Rocky is my miniature dachshund and our canine executive officer. He is a friend to underdogs everywhere and a foe to those insurance companies who would seek to deny a settlement claim. Don’t let his short stature fool you. Rocky reminds us when it comes to dealing with insurance companies, when to bark and when to bite.
Q: Your office is located in the Arts District, and in 2020, you unveiled a mural painted on your wall. How do you engage with your community?
Sam Mirejovsky: The mural, titled “Rocky’s First Flight,” was created by Las Vegas artist Gear Duran. The 45-by-10-foot piece celebrates 100 years of flight in Las Vegas, featuring a Boeing-Stearman plane piloted by our Canine Executive Officer Rocky.
Ash Watkins: The mural reflects both local aviation history and our journey from Southern California to establish Sam & Ash Injury Law in Las Vegas. It also honors the U.S. military with a tribute to the Thunderbirds. We’re proud to support local artists and contribute to the vibrant cultural community of the Arts District.
Q: What else should potential clients know if they need the services of a personal injury law firm?
Sam Mirejovsky: When seeking a personal injury law firm, it’s crucial to understand your rights and responsibilities. Don’t let large insurance companies or inexperienced lawyers take advantage of you.
Ash Watkins: With proper legal representation, you could avoid out-of-pocket costs like medical bills, towing and rental fees. We prioritize your recovery and work to ensure all accident expenses are covered. We invest in your case because our success is tied to yours —you don’t pay unless we win. Choosing the right lawyer doesn’t have to be stressful. Research, referrals, credentials and communication are key.
