At The PENTA Building Group (PENTA), our focus is on our people, our culture and our communities. We take pride in not just building amazing projects, but also in doing our part to strengthen the communities we are fortunate to serve.
PENTA is a nationally recognized commercial general contractor with $11 billion in projects across the United States — that involves a lot of people and a lot of relationships. It’s also why we emphasize safety and quality in everything we do.
Last year, corporate giving in the U.S. topped $36 billion, which is a number that continues to increase year after year. According to Non-Profit Source, the average corporate volunteer participation rate is 33 percent. Employees see five times higher engagement rates at companies with employee volunteer programs.
At PENTA, I can confidently say that our commitment to giving stems from a genuine belief that it enhances our organization. The proof is in some of our most recent recognition awards. PENTA has won numerous “Best Places to Work” and “Top Workplaces” awards in California, Arizona and Nevada. These are awards based solely on survey responses from anonymous employees. Most recently, we were awarded the No. 1 Nevada Top Workplace Award for a midsize company by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. We are proud of the awards; but we are prouder that our employees care enough to nominate us! Community involvement is at the core of what we do and deeply connected to who we are as a company. Our commitment to giving back is more than a corporate responsibility, it’s who we are as a company. A truly successful business must nurture the communities it serves. At PENTA, giving back is squarely at the intersection of corporate responsibility and company culture.
At PENTA, we view our success as a company as something that is linked to the passion and dedication of our team. This approach makes us not just builders, but partners with the community beyond our construction projects.
Since 2000, The PENTA CARES Foundation has donated more than $11 million to 350 organizations.
In 2024 alone, 381 PENTA team members spent 7,566 hours volunteering at more than 90 nonprofits. Collectively, we’ve also contributed $1.5 million in monetary donations company wide. We take immense pride in these numbers.
To be clear, it’s our people who deserve all the credit; they are the ones dedicating their time and effort to the causes we support.
The PENTA CARES Foundation was formed through a grassroots movement created by people throughout the ranks at PENTA. It is a response to the overwhelming number of employees, along with their family members and friends, who wanted to volunteer their time, and showed a desire to do more. In response, we established PENTA CARES to channel their passionate efforts and enhance them with PENTA’s organizational resources.
The people and the passion were already there, so creating a foundation to aid their efforts to give back simply just made sense.
PENTA is privileged to support The PENTA CARES Foundation logistically and financially, but the enjoyment that our team members have while volunteering is hard to quantify. They genuinely feel rewarded after giving back to the community, which says a lot about the incredible individuals on our team and their dedication to fostering PENTA’s culture.
The mission of The PENTA CARES Foundation is to “increase the impact PENTA’s employees, family and friends have within the communities where we live and work. By giving back, we build personal and business relationships while strengthening PENTA’s culture of caring.”
Home builds, charity golf tournaments, college scholarships, blood drives, food banks, rescue missions and more. If a team member expresses interest in supporting an important community cause, we are happy to do what we can to provide additional support.
We strive to build lasting structures, but we believe our employees’ service also can lead to lasting positive change. This dedication not only enriches the lives of everyone involved, but also promotes a vibrant and fulfilling workplace.
As we invest in communities, we attract passionate talent who share our vision. This helps make PENTA more than just a great place to work, but also a place where individuals are united by a rewarding purpose.
