C-SUITE: Meet Ash Watkins, partner and attorney at Sam Ash law firm

Ash Watkins is a partner and attorney at Sam & Ash law firm.

Q: What are you reading?

A: I technically do audiobooks these days because of travel, and trying to walk my dog whenever I have a free minute. With that said, I just finished “The Silent Patient” but also currently reading “The Like Switch” and “The Creative Act.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant or place to take clients?

A: (We don’t wine and dine our clients, it’s a complicated dynamic) In Las Vegas, I like doing business lunches at Esther’s Kitchen in the Art’s District. It’s right around the corner from our office, and we love supporting the neighborhood and they have incredible food. In Newport Beach, I like supporting our longtime friends who are in the restaurant industry by doing lunches at Vaca or Arc Butcher & Baker.

Q: How do you decompress after a long week?

A: After a long week I like centering myself by relaxing with my dog Rocky; visiting with family and friends; and checking out any local events happening in either Vegas or Southern California. Also, I usually use the weekends to experiment with new sourdough bread or pizza recipes. Some of which go better than others.

Q: What do you do to workout?

A: For working out beyond dog walks and hikes, I enjoy paddle boarding, kayaking and even the occasional game of pickleball. In Vegas during the summers, I also will use my at-home SoulCycle bike.

Q: What is the biggest challenge facing Southern Nevada?

A: I think Southern Nevada faces a lot of unique challenges, but one I am noticing a lot is the struggle to grow and live up to the “Entertainment Capitol of the World” title in a manner that is financially responsible and does not come at the expense of locals.
