Currently, I am working on a few different books, “Atlas of the Heart” by Brene Brown and “From Cradle to Stage: Stories from the Mothers Who Rocked and Raised Rock Stars.”My son is in a band so I feel the need to find someone who can relate and help me parent; my children did not come with instructions.
Q: What is your favorite restaurant?
A: I love local restaurants, The Front Yard at Ellis Casino has excellent drinks, atmosphere and live music. They also have some great flatbread and wings.
Q: Where do you work out or play your favorite sport?
A: I enjoy walking and listening to music or podcasts in my neighborhood. I like to walk around the mesa at Whitney Ranch. The sunrise and sunset are beautiful.
Q: How do you decompress after a tough week?
A: Listening to a podcast out on my patio with a glass of … just kidding! After a hard week, I run around with my family, raising two teenagers is where the fun is at right now.
Q: What is the biggest challenge facing Southern Nevada?
A: Education. The struggle is real, the challenges are complicated, and kids need all hands on deckand egos out the door. I am grateful for the work we do at the nonprofit Cristo Rey St. Viator High School; those students have many opportunities that most other schools do not offer.
