C-SUITE: Meet Travis Turner

Travis Turner is the owner of Luxe 702, a new boutique concierge business.

Q: What are you reading?

A: I am currently reading “Shoe Dog” by Phil Knight. It is a memoir from the founder and CEO of Nike sharing the inside story of the company’s early days as an intrepid startup and its evolution into one of the world’s most iconic, game-changing and profitable brands. I have an obsession over reading memoirs and biographies, especially of those that are entrepreneurs.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant or place to take clients?

A: I would say Chef Marc’s Trattoria in the Ahern Hotel. We have been going there for many years. Many of the staff members know my family and me by our names. Chef Marc comes out and greets all of his guests and spends a few moments with his tables. He discusses the current cuisine on the menu and gives suggestions based on your current palette. Their service and Italian food — just great.

Q: How do you decompress after a long week?

A: My most favorite thing to do is laugh. After a long week, there’s nothing better than surrounding yourself with those that mean the most to you and just enjoy each others; company. We like to play games, host blind wine tastings and listen to many different genres and eras of music.

Q: What do you do to workout?

A: Prior to the pandemic I loved joining others in one of our local spin studios, The Ride. Lacey Alderson is my spirit animal. She’s likely one of the best fitness instructors I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. Our household has recently become obsessed with The Peloton. They have so many different programs they offer.

Q: What is the biggest challenge facing Southern Nevada?

A: In my lifetime I have never seen what Las Vegas would look like completely shut down, until exactly a year ago when our entire world was flipped upside down when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Our city operates on tourism. I don’t think many other communities and cities have been as financially impacted as we have. We have remained resilient and have built an incredible sense of community. While I know we will come back bigger and better than ever, I think it is going to take quite a bit of time.
