The 11th annual Las Vegas’ Largest Mixer, a collaboration of local chambers of commerce and business organizations, will be held Sept. 16 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Tuscany Suites & Casino, 255 E. Flamingo Rd.
This “mega-networking” event will provide the opportunity for businesses to foster new relationships, build business leads and gain a better knowledge of the vast amount of business networking groups based in the Las Vegas area.
“With the economy the way it is these days, your network is basically all you have to rely on,” said Joel Jarvis, an event supporter. “Las Vegas’ Largest Mixer is the premier local networking mixer. It’s as good as networking gets in Las Vegas. Lots of serious business people, business groups, and community business leaders, all in one room for one reason: business.”

Letizia opens shop
Tom Letizia, a longtime figure in Las Vegas advertising, opened The Letizia Agency Aug. 31.
Letizia, who started in the advertising business in 1971, is best known for handling six mayoral races: five in Las Vegas for Carolyn and Oscar Goodman, and in 2013 for the mayor of El Paso, Texas.
In all, Letizia has handled more than 100 political campaigns in his career. In addition to handling some of the top auto dealers in the country, Letizia has represented many high profile PR clients over his 40 years in the business.
His new business model will include the same type of client mix, with an emphasis on digital marketing.
The agency will partner with Denver-based Native Rank, a digital marketing company.

The Las Vegas News Bureau has unveiled a traveling art exhibit created by Brian Jones, a photographer who worked with the News Bureau for 20 years.
For more than 65 years, the Las Vegas News Bureau has documented unforgettable images on film and amassed a comprehensive photographic and video collection showcasing the history of Las Vegas. The archive includes entertainers and sports figures, world-class concerts and special events, and the ever-evolving skyline.
Today, the Las Vegas News Bureau supports the marketing efforts of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. While its primary function is to work with the news media, the News Bureau shares its collection with the public through community exhibitions.
In a series of re-interpretations titled “Re-Visualizing Las Vegas,” Jones applied vibrant colors and soft pastels to timeless black-and-white images to capture the period in time.
“These images bring a new look and energy to what we think of when we think of classic Las Vegas,” Lisa Jacob, director of the Las Vegas News Bureau, said in a statement. “We are excited to be able to share these images with the community.”
The photos from the exhibit are on display until Sept. 28 at the Foley Federal Building at 300 S. Las Vegas Blvd. The exhibition is free to the public.
