MGM Resorts honored for employment equality

The Human Rights Campaign announced that, for the fourth consecutive year, MGM Resorts International has earned a perfect score from the 2016 Corporate Equality Index, an annual survey that ranks major companies for their non-discrimination and benefits practices with respect to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees. The assessment focuses on LGBT-related company policies and practices, including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community. The 2016 CEI rated 1,024 businesses, of which 407 achieved 100 percent, earning them the coveted distinction of “Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality.”

Hunt-Bono receives tourism Legacy Award

Lt. Gov. Mark Hutchison presented the Nevada Commission on Tourism Legacy Award to Lorraine Hunt-Bono, former lieutenant governor and former chair of the Nevada Commission on Tourism, at the Nevada Governor’s Global Tourism Summit. Hunt-Bono served as lieutenant governor of Nevada from 1999 to 2007, which also placed her as the chair for both the Nevada Commission on Tourism and the Nevada Commission on Economic Development. She was first appointed to the tourism commission in 1983 by then-Gov. Richard Bryan, and continued to serve until October of this year when she stepped down.

Nevada Title Co. receives award

Nevada Title Co. has received the First American Platinum Award from First American Title Insurance. This recognition is only one of two given to Nevada companies this year. The award is presented to top agents using criteria based on remittance levels, claims, lag time, reputation in the community and best practice compliance.
