The Shade Tree receives $25,000 from Cox Charities

The Shade Tree, a 24-hour accessible shelter designed to specifically meet the needs of domestic violence and human trafficking survivors, their children and pets (through a partnership with Noah’s Animal House), received $25,000 from Cox Charities, the fundraising arm of Cox Communications, Las Vegas. The donation was made possible by the generous support of sponsors for the annual Cox Charities Golf Tournament.

This gift will support The Shade Tree’s mission to provide safe shelter and resources to women and children in crisis while offering life-changing services that promote stability, dignity and self-reliance.

The Shade Tree, a 35-year Southern Nevada nonprofit, is a 24-hour accessible emergency shelter for domestic violence and human trafficking survivors and their children. The Shade Tree partners with Noah’s Animal House, located on the organization’s campus, to provide pet services for its clients. The Shade Tree facility offers residential areas with sleeping rooms, a children’s activity center, meals and other services. Additionally, it offers case management and programs to in-house and off-site clients including workforce readiness, health services and housing assistance.
