CSN named Leader College
The College of Southern Nevada has earned Leader College distinction by Achieving the Dream, a national designation awarded to community colleges for improving student success and closing achievement gaps. Achieving the Dream grants Leader College designation for three-year cycles, after which institutions must undergo a recertification process to maintain Leader College status. The college has redesigned its intake process and academic guidance procedures, with a focus on increasing semester-to-semester persistence to increase degree and certificate completion. The college plans to implement the changes for all new students seeking degrees in fall 2016.
Downtown Grand, Triple Grill honored
The Downtown Grand and the Triple George Grill have received the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Award, based upon positive reviews from travelers. Now in its fifth year, the award celebrates excellence in hospitality and is given only to establishments that consistently achieve great reviews on TripAdvisor. When selecting their winners, TripAdvisor takes into account the quality, quantity and recency of reviews and opinions submitted by travelers over a 12-month period, as well as business’s tenure and ranking on the Popularity Index on the site. To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and be listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months. Triple George Grill celebrated its 10th anniversary in July and is known as one of the first independent eateries to emerge in the beginning years of the revitalization of downtown Las Vegas.
