ON THE MOVE: Geotechnical Environmental Services adds staff

ENGINEERING

• Geotechnical & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES) President Greg DeSart announced Kylara Jane Miller has joined the GES, Inc. office.

“We are very excited to have Kylara Jane on our team. Her role is instrumental in assisting the GES client relations team and meeting important deadlines. She also spearheads GES’ philanthropic efforts/events. Her enthusiasm and willingness to learn is to be admired.” DeSart said.

GES is a full-service, engineering firm focusing on geotechnical, environmental, materials testing and construction inspections. In addition, the company offers drilling support for the design, construction and maintenance of public infrastructure and private development. FINANCE

• GenuBank, a leading Las Vegas business financial institution, announces the appointment of four executives to its leadership team: Susan Lopez as executive vice president and chief administration officer; Michele Guanzon as executive vice president and chief risk and compliance officer; Kathleen Smith as executive vice president and director of operations; and Linda Kuhn as executive vice president of client relations. These appointments, effective immediately, reflect the company’s commitment to fostering growth and innovations across multiple areas of the business.

— Lopez has more than 30 years of experience in banking. She has successfully driven growth at other banks. After eight years with GenuBank, her new role will lead the team in overseeing project management, marketing and bank administration. Lopez is a graduate of UNLV and volunteers for Three Square Food Bank and other local nonprofit organizations.

— Guanzon has an extensive background in the banking industry. She will oversee GenuBank’s development and administration of robust compliance and risk management programs, as well as partner with other bank leaders to ensure compliant solutions to new initiatives. Guanzon earned her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of La Verne.

— In her new role, Smith will oversee the operations of the bank and branches and implement product and service offerings that are technologically relevant to meet the needs of the bank’s clients. She is a graduate of UNLV, is an alumna of Leadership North Las Vegas and former board member of the Clark County Law Foundation.

— Kuhn will be responsible for developing new business to expand deposit and loan relationships. She graduated from Pacific Coast Banking School and was part of Leadership Las Vegas in 2006. Kuhn is on the board of directors for Sunrise Children’s Foundation.

NONPROFIT

• Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada announced the elevation of Christina Ramirez to chief mission delivery officer. In this role, Ramirez is responsible for the continued success and growth of the Development and Family Services departments.

“As one of the second longest-serving staff of Candlelighters, Christina’s contributions over the last decade have consistently propelled the organization to new heights,” said Kimberly Kindig, CEO of Candlelighters. “As we chart our next chapter, I am thrilled to have Christina serve as second in charge, with direct responsibility over the Development and Family Services departments. I cannot think of a better leader to help me stand-up our $8 million capital campaign and launch all of the awesomeness in our new, amazing building.”

An avid supporter of nonprofits and her community, Christina brings more than 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector. Her passion for Candlelighters began when she served as a lead camp counselor for Candlelighters’ Camp Firefly before joining the Candlelighters team full-time.
