ON THE MOVE: Nevada Bankers Association adds board member

• The Nevada Bankers Association has named Michael Woodfield to its board of directors.

“Michael is a great addition to our board,” said NBA President and Chief Executive Officer Phyllis Gurgevich. “His extensive expertise and leadership in the banking and financial services industry will undoubtedly enhance our mission to support Nevada’s banking industry and the commercial customers we serve.”

Woodfield is the market executive for Southern Nevada and Southern Utah at J.P. Morgan Commercial Banking. In this role, he provides commercial banking services, solutions and expertise to support the growth and success of the middle market companies that power our local economy and communities.

He is a board member of the Vegas Chamber and the Downtown Las Vegas Rotary Club. Woodfield also is an active member of the local chapters of CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) and NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association. He has a degree in business marketing from the University of Phoenix.

HEALTHCARE

Dr. Timothy Hamilton, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), former staff surgeon and medical director of the cardiovascular and thoracic oncology surgery program at a large local hospital, has joined the team at Nevada Heart & Vascular Center.

He brings more than 25 years of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery experience to the new role at Nevada’s leading cardiology and vascular medical practice.

“Dr. Hamilton is a great addition to our practice,” said Nevada Heart & Vascular Center Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tony Alamo. “His extensive skill and knowledge in cardiology will further help expand our cardiovascular care for the people of Las Vegas.”

Hamilton is a longtime Nevadan with a degree in pre-professional biology from the University of Nevada Las Vegas and a medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine. Hamilton also is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.

He did much of his professional training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas before returning to Las Vegas.

• Signs of HOPE (Healing, Options, Prevention and Education), a nonprofit dedicated to offering hope, help and healing to those affected by sexual violence and exploitation, announced the appointment of Felishia Baggi to its board of directors.

Baggi is a seasoned finance and accounting professional with more than 15 years of experience across complex, multi-entity organizations in the manufacturing, gaming and technology sectors. She currently serves as an audit director at PwC, where she brings deep expertise in accounting, auditing, finance and project management. Baggi holds a Master of Science in accounting from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and is a licensed certified public accountant in Nevada.

Signs of HOPE — Healing, Options, Prevention and Education — is a nonprofit organization dedicated to offering hope, help and healing to those affected by sexual violence and exploitation. The organization was founded in 1974 by Florence McClure and Sandra Petta as the Community Action Against Rape (CAAR) and operated as The Rape Crisis Center from 2004-2021. Today, Signs of HOPE operates two 24/7 crisis hotlines and provides hospital response for sexual assault victims. In addition, the organization provides counseling, advocacy and support to help victims throughout the healing process, for as long as it takes. Through its Resources and Integration for Survivor Empowerment or RISE program, the organization provides crisis response and long-term case management services to victims of all forms of human trafficking. Outside of her professional work, George-Kim is dedicated to health and wellness. She is a yoga and Pilates instructor, actively trains in Jiu-Jitsu, and is a three-time world champion in Taekwondo from her teen years.
