DraftKings named No. 1 Nevada Top Workplace in large company category

National digital sports and igaming operator DraftKings was named the No. 1 Top Workplace among Nevada’s largest companies.

This is the fourth consecutive year DraftKings has been named a Nevada Top Workplace winner.

Although headquartered in Boston and not licensed to offer sports betting in Nevada, DraftKings has an office in Las Vegas. It is considered the No. 2 sports betting operator behind FanDuel and ahead of BetMGM, a joint venture between Las Vegas-based MGM Resorts International and European-based Entain.

DraftKings has 609 employees in Las Vegas out of 3,700 nationwide. It has another 1,300 abroad.

In securing the honor as a top workplace, DraftKings touted its corporate social responsibility program, DK S.E.R.V.E.S., in which it trains veterans in the latest technology through a partnership with Vets In Tech. It has planted more than 1 million trees with the Arbor Day Foundation. It also has collaborated with smaller, local charities to support their missions.

“We firmly believe it is our responsibility to give back and to create a place where our employees can do the same,” the company said in a statement.

Since 2022, DraftKings said it has hosted an annual charity golf tournament, organized entirely by its internal Business Resource Groups. Each BRG selects a charity to benefit, and DraftKings employees serve as volunteers throughout the day. In the inaugural year, DraftKings raised more than $70,000 for local organizations.

DraftKings touted its employee benefits. While it operates in multiple countries, the company said it focuses on ensuring every team member finds the right benefits that suit their lifestyle, regardless of geography.

DraftKings said it’s committed to the collective Inclusion, Equity, and Belonging mission and is nurturing the next generation of global talent.

“As a technology company prioritizing collaboration, we believe that the best innovation comes from diverse perspectives, thoughts, beliefs, ideas and experiences,” the company said in a written statement. “Our actions, today, have the power to impact change across our global community.”

DraftKings also said its leadership is committed to change, and is putting action behind its words.

“Through our various partnerships and Business Resource Groups, we continue participating in different speaking engagements and fundraising events that drive equity and representation forward,” the company said. “Our community leaders host various workshops focusing on career navigation and self-advocacy.”

DraftKings employees spoke highly of the company in participating in the survey that determines the winners.

“I have a perfect work-life balance,” said one employee. “I have an amazing team that I enjoy working with, learning from and communicating with on a daily basis. I have a manager that cares for my career and progress and helps support me at every hump I encounter.”

Another said the company allows them to flourish and learn to grow in their career.

One cited how DraftKings provides incentives and perks that most companies don’t offer.

“The flexibility of my schedule and genuine care from my leaders and peers is second to none,” the employee said.

Another said DraftKings has a “work hard, play hard” mentality.

“My work is held to a high standard, and I am challenged day to day, but I am also provided support, amazing benefits and fun opportunities at work,” the employee said.

One employee said they get to directly impact not only the company’s performance but how their book of clients engage.

“I enjoy having some flexibility to enjoy aspects outside of work that I did not get to enjoy in my previous positions held in the casino business,” the employee said.

One employee said they get to work at the best company in the online gaming industry.

“I’m passionate about sports and the casino,” the employee said. “Being able to do this daily and work directly with the players is a dream job of mine. My peers share that same passion and energy, which makes it that much better to do this on the daily.”

One said their team members are always willing to lend a hand, and that there’s always something new to keep it interesting.

“My management is also always there but allows us to work with autonomy,” the employee said.

Another called their co-workers “absolutely incredible” and that they’ve made friends at work that will last a lifetime.
