C-SUITE: Meet Curtis Edenfield

Curtis Edenfield is the CEO of Thrive Aviation.

Q: What are you reading or listening to?

A: Our leadership team recently finished the book “10x is easier than 2x: How World-Class Entrepreneurs Achieve More by Doing Less” by Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy. It’s a fantastic book I’d recommend to anyone. One of my mentors just suggested that I read “Play Bigger: How Pirates, Dreamers, and Innovators Create and Dominate Markets” by Al Ramadan, Dave Peterson, Christopher Lochhead and Kevin Maney, so that’s next on the docket.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant or place to take clients?

A: If I’m going to head to the Strip — you can’t go wrong with the Wynn. I love Wing Lei and SW Steakhouse. Both wonderful. For a business lunch or a great casual dinner off the Strip, I love Echo & Rig in The District near Green Valley Ranch.

Q: How do you decompress after a long week?

A: I have two young kids at home, so my wife and I started a tradition of Friday night pizza nights a few years back. It’s really fun and something the whole family looks forward to each week.

Q: Where’s your favorite place to travel?

A: My wife and I love to travel to Napa. It’s such a beautiful part of the country, amazing weather, and obviously great wine!

Q: What is the biggest challenge facing Southern Nevada?

A: I think one of the challenges facing Southern Nevada is keeping up with the population growth. There’s so many people moving here (I don’t blame them!), but we need to make sure we have the infrastructure and can continue to handle the rapid growth.

Q: What is Southern Nevada’s biggest opportunity?

A: With the challenges of growth, per the previous question, also comes amazing opportunity. I think pouring into the growth Southern Nevada is experiencing can end up being one of the biggest opportunities. From growth within the Strip, off the Strip, various sectors and industries all being attracted to Southern Nevada — there’s opportunities for everyone.
