The Flipping Network is hosting three free two-hour workshops for beginning investors and Realtors on how to get started finding, fixing, and flipping houses.
Featured speaker will be Lloyd Segal, author of “Flipping Houses” and named by The Wall Street Journal as “One of America’s Big Flippers.”
The workshops kick off 6-8 p.m. July 14 at the Henderson Chamber of Commerce, 112 S. Water St. in Henderson. It continues 6-8 p.m. July 15 at the Aliante, 7300 Aliante Parkway in North Las Vegas and concludes 5-7 p.m. July 16 at Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave. .
The workshops are complimentary, but reservations are required.

Skye Canyon picks Forté
Skye Canyon, a 1,700-acre master-planned community in northwest Las Vegas, has selected Las Vegas-based Forté PR as its public relations agency of record.
Skye Canyon is the vision of Olympia Cos., developer of Southern Highlands, along with Stonehill Capital Management and Spectrum Group Management LLC.
The community, which broke ground in June 2014, will feature homes from a variety of homebuilders including Pulte Homes Inc. and Woodside Homes.
It will preview its first model home offerings Aug. 1.
Forté PR will provide traditional and social media services and facilitate key community partnerships on behalf of Skye Canyon.
At completion, the community will offer 9,000 homes from entry-level to move-up and luxury, along with commercial and gaming offerings.
The ageless community’s amenities include designated bike lanes on all major streets, an extensive network of hiking and biking trails, community parks, a bike shop, amphitheater and a community greenhouse.
At the heart of the community will be Skye Center, an 8,142-square-foot contemporary rustic community and home-finding center that will include a juice bar, coffee shop, open-air cantina and wine bar, outdoor patio, fireplace and fire pits, as well as interactive home-finding tools.
Also located at Skye Center is Skye Fitness, a 9,663-square-foot facility that will include a basketball court, swimming pool, play and splash parks among other amenities. Both are slated to open in early 2016.
Games cleared for bar use
Century Gaming Technologies received final approval to release the latest software version of its proprietary Power Vision gaming device to the Nevada market.
This software release marks a collaboration between slot manufacturer Aristocrat Technologies Inc. and Century, which will introduce three of Aristocrat’s popular slot titles on Century’s bar-top version of Power Vision.
Century and Aristocrat have combined forces to bring Nevada the first ever bar-top multigame machine to offer “Miss Kitty,” “Five Dragons” and the original “Buffalo,” three slot themes with international name recognition.
There are more than 150 Power Vision games operating in Century partner locations throughout Nevada. All Century bar-top machines will be updated with this new software set.
“This is a groundbreaking moment ,which Century is proud to be a part of,” Steve Arntzen, president and CEO of Century, said in a statement. “The addition of these three top performing reel games to the neighborhood bar market in Nevada is a game-changer.”
Mortgage firm opens
Mann Mortgage, a national mortgage banker, opened a Las Vegas branch, which will serve local consumers and real estate agents with home financing.
The Montana-based corporation operates 46 retail branches across the U.S. Its newest branch at 3195 St. Rose Parkway, Suite 131, in Henderson, offers mortgage education services for consumers and access to a variety of home-loan products.
The Henderson team is led by Robert Coomer an 18-year mortgage veteran. He has been recognized by Mortgage Originator Magazine, on its list of Top 200 Mortgage Originators in America.
Coomer has led his branch as the second highest in production among Mann Mortgage nationwide.
