Gillett Construction has promoted long-time executive Shane Zuke to vice president – operations. Zuke will be responsible for directing all estimating and construction activities of the company. Zuke started his career at Tiberti Construction, joining Gillett Construction in 2010 as project manager before being promoted to director of operations.

HEALTH CARE

Clark County Medical Society has elected Dr. Souzan El-Eid, a breast surgeon at Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada, as its new president. Dr. El-Eid serves on various medical committees, has co-authored numerous publications about breast cancer and breast diseases and frequently gives presentations and lecturers about breast cancer to the public and physicians. Dr. El-Eid will lead the organization beginning July 1.

Southwest Medical has added one doctor, Dr. Darryl Fortson; two advanced practice registered nurses, Estrella Borromeo and Ralph Borromeo; one physician assistant, Monica Hall; one medical assistant, Aleli Malonzo; and one nurse practitioner, Rebecca Stevens. Dr. Fortson will join Tenaya Health Care Center, specializing in adult medicine. Estrella Borromeo will join Tropicana Health Care Center, specializing in adult medicine; Ralph Borromeo will join Lake Mead-Henderson Health Care Center, specializing in adult medicine; Hall will join Summerlin Health Care Center, specializing in adult medicine; Malonzo will work in the Care Plus division; Stevens will join Tenaya Health Care Center, specializing in adult medicine.

News 88.9 KNPR has hired journalist and former columnist at the Las Vegas Review-Journal, John L. Smith, as a regular contributor. Smith will appear regularly on the station’s flagship program, “KNPR’s State of Nevada,” offering a news analysis and slice of life commentary as stand-alone elements within the program.
