At The PENTA Building Group, we’re honored to once again be named a top workplace in Las Vegas. There are many reasons why PENTA is such a great place to build a career but, in the end, it’s all about our people. We attract the construction industry’s most talented professionals by building strong relationships — with each other, with our clients, with our trade partners and with the local Las Vegas community. Our people are proud of this town, and we’ve had the privilege to build so many of its iconic buildings that enrich our local community and draw visitors from all around the world to Las Vegas.
Being able to work with high profile clients throughout Las Vegas reminds me of just how rewarding the work can be, not just in the construction of extraordinary buildings but in the relationships that breathe those buildings to life. All construction projects are fraught with challenges. It is not a question of if something will go wrong, but rather when something will go wrong. Talented people and a great plan go a long way to making our projects successful; but relationships with owners is what really makes all the difference. When you are partnered with people who understand the realities of construction, the risks, the surprises and the need to adapt, you are able to work together to solve problems in a way that is genuinely collaborative and mutually beneficial. The right partners do not just help build great projects, but they make the entire experience something worth being proud of.
Additionally, what makes our projects rewarding is the impact they have on our community. It’s an incredible experience to build projects that add real value to the Las Vegas community, from major hospitality projects that fuel our tourist economy to hospitals, medical buildings and schools that care for and educate our families. Where else can you build a guitar-shaped hotel, a children’s hospital, a new high school and a Formula 1 racetrack, while simultaneously renovating and expanding some of the most iconic properties in the world up and down the Las Vegas Strip.
So, what does this mean for our loyal staff and esteemed trade partners? It means pride and satisfaction. It’s hard to describe the feeling we get when we overhear a tourist talking about their beautiful hotel room; or when our kids come home from school asking if their class can take a field trip to visit one of our iconic projects; or even just driving through town and seeing PENTA signs on every corner. That spirit and pride in our work permeates throughout our entire company from top to bottom.
Our PENTA people feel that being part of something special and understanding what it means to the community is a big deal. It gives them a reason to go to work every day to put in the hours and get something in return. And it all goes back to the importance of relationships. When you work with a team that is focused on a shared goal and everyone has each other’s back, challenges aren’t problems, just another thing to overcome together. If someone slips, you help them and you know they will be there for you when you need it. You are part of a team and that creates a mindset of support and an environment where our people flourish.
We want people to know they are valued. The work is not always easy, but we know in the end we are changing our community for the better.
And that’s why I believe PENTA is a top workplace. It is a combination of building culture, appreciating people and improving our community. At the most basic level people want to be on a winning team and they want to know that what they do makes a difference. They want to work somewhere they can be proud of who they are and where they can be inspired to be the best versions of themselves — that’s working for PENTA.
