SNAP Towing donates $100,000 to Las Vegas Rescue Mission

The Las Vegas Rescue Mission announced it has received a generous donation from Snap Towing, which will be used toward its holiday-based funding needs.

Snap Towing President Dustin Ellis said the $100,000 donation falls in line with the towing company’s mission to “give back to the community that we are serving.”

“We have been donating to different community causes since 1971, when my grandfather Robert Ellis, the founder of Snap Towing, had a passion for giving back to local nonprofits,” Ellis said. “This is our community, and we are proud to support it.”

Ellis said the connection to the Las Vegas Rescue Mission came via former Congresswoman Shelley Berkley, who has had a long-standing relationship with the Ellis family. She is also a dedicated advocate for the homeless.

According to executives with the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, Berkley played a pivotal role in securing the funds necessary to sustain the Rescue Mission this year, ensuring that the many individuals who rely on the mission are fed. Heather Engle, CEO of the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, has collaborated with the former congresswoman for many years, and this year continues that longstanding partnership.

“We are ecstatic that many prominent businesses and individuals have stepped in to assist our organization with the much-needed funding for various programs and needs,” Engle said. “This donation will help with various holiday funding needs for our mission’s population, and we are very grateful for it.”

The Las Vegas Rescue Mission has been assisting homeless men, women and children in the community for 50 years. Since beginning in 1970, the Mission has provided meals, emergency shelter, recovery programs with addiction counseling and encouragement to help the low-income and homeless in our community. The Mission started with a small storefront building that included the chapel, kitchen and shelter, which was able to house a few men.

Today, the Mission campus, which is in downtown Las Vegas, is helping hundreds of men, women and children daily, while providing approximately 30,000 meals each month. We are nonprofit Christian organization, and provide services to all people without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, age, gender, religion or disability.
