CW Nevada, a supplier, producer and distributor of cannabis and cannabis-infused products, recently formed a partnership with Colorado-based Wana Brands — a producer of cannabis-infused products. CW Nevada will put Wana’s products on its shelves by early 2016.
“We are really looking forward to introducing Wana’s products to Nevada,” said Jason Thompson, president of CW Nevada. “We think that the great taste, consistency and care that goes into Wana products will quickly make the brand a huge hit in Nevada.”
Wana’s product lines include many edible products: Sour Gummies, Wana Rolls, Classic Caramels, Wana Jewels and Cinnamints. It also offers drink mixes, along with hot cocoa.
Wana sees its new partnership as a good match.
“Wana Brands is already one of the largest infused-products companies in Colorado, so our partnership with CW Nevada is a natural and exciting next step in the expansion of our brand,” said Nancy Whiteman, co-founder of Wana Brands. “CW Nevada’s expertise in growing, distribution and state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, combined with Wana’s cannabis products, makes this partnership the perfect union.
CW Nevada also plans to offer Wana’s products to other dispensaries throughout Nevada. CW Nevada operates in Las Vegas and Pahrump.
Wana Brands is in more than 400 dispensaries throughout Colorado and will also be heading to Oregon in 2016.
Wana is also expanding its product lines as well: Wana Extracts will bring a full line of concentrates including all styles of hash and vape oil. And Wana Medicinals, which also ushers in a new partnership with Cannabics Pharmaceuticals, is a slow-release cannabis capsule known as Wanacapsxr. It comes in two formulations of cannabidiol — made from CBD oil from Colorado-grown, organic hemp.
Endoscopy center first since 2008
Las Vegas Endoscopy — the first independent center to debut in Clark County in the past seven years – has opened at 7315 S. Pecos Road.
The center’s two gastroenterologists — Dr. Noel Fajardo and Dr. Filippo Cremonini — will also be the first to offer new technology to Southern Nevada: the Endochoice Fuse. The fuse has three small cameras at the tip of the GI endoscope which provides a 330-degree panoramic view. Conventional units only have 170-degree field of image capture.
According to Fajardo, this gastroscope has been shown to be 69 percent more effective at detecting adenomas and polyps—benign tumors in epithelial tissue—than a traditional endoscope.
The center is the first facility to open under regulations created in 2008 by the Nevada State Health Division. The regulations were created to deal with problems involving safety issues with disinfection and sterilization at centers that led to a Hepatitis C outbreak and a scare for many patients.
“My vision is that Las Vegas Endoscopy will provide services that are not available anywhere else. And especially because we are at the forefront of medical technology, we also want our patients to feel safe receiving an endoscopy or colonoscopy,” said Fajardo.
