Momenti Spirited Ice Creams has brought a first to Las Vegas and the U.S. by building a specialty manufacturing plant in the city to create spirit-infused ice creams and sorbets.
“We are proud to announce our factory is the first of its kind designed to exclusively produce alcohol-infused ice creams and sorbets,” said Leif Pearson, chief operating officer and owner of Momenti. “Las Vegas is a perfect place to open our factory because a majority of the population is engaged in the food and beverage industry and it has become a hub for epicureans.”
The family-owned and operated producer set up shop at the 4000 block of Silvestri Lane in Las Vegas, where Momenti infuses ice creams and sorbets with wine and spirits.
Some of Momenti’s flavors include White Russian Pecan, Choctini Chip, Vodka Cookies &Cream, Blackberry Cabernet sorbet and Limoncello Sorbet. The flavors include various alcoholic drinks such as vodka and cabernet sauvignon.
The process was developed by Momenti and industry scientists and experts from across the U.S.
“Over the course of my career, I’ve consulted with hundreds of ice cream developers to bring their concepts to life, and Momenti’s one-of-a-kind facility is the first ice cream production plant created to exclusively produce alcohol-infused ice cream,” said Darryl David, a dairy/ice cream consultant.
The company is currently in talks with more than a half dozen restaurants and food and beverage companies, from both on and off the Strip.
Momenti also is offering custom-branded cups for private events and catering opportunities.
Nevada State Bank teaches
financial literacy
Nevada State Bank has made continuous efforts to teach financial literacy across Nevada, from adults to young adults. In recognition of National Financial Literacy month, this April, Nevada State is staying committed to its efforts.
“Nevada State Bank’s ongoing commitment to financial literacy has many long-term benefits for the communities in which we do business, live and work,” said Drew Zidzik, senior vice president and community relations manager for Nevada State Bank. “By encouraging our colleagues to teach students and adults about the basics of money management, we not only help the individuals who are learning the lessons, but we also increase the overall level of financial literacy in Nevada.”
Last year, over 160 bank colleagues spent more than 1,015 hours teaching students and at-risk individuals the basics of handling money and credit.
Nevada State Bank sees a benefit to starting financial literacy at a young age. With these efforts in mind, it’s heavily involved with Junior Achievement, a nonprofit that provides business, economic and life-skills curriculum in schools across Nevada. Bank volunteers teach JA lessons in classrooms during the school year, along with other activities.
Nevada State created other programs to assist young adults with financial literacy including its Banking on Your Future, a series of financial literacy modules Nevada State created in 2001 to instruct young adults on finances.
Nevada State also partnered with The Shade Tree, a Las Vegas shelter for homeless and abused women and children in crisis, to help residents learn how to manage finances. This pursuit was done to help residents learn how to manage finances, giving them an advantage when they leave the shelter.
Local interior design firm to
remodel country club
Colours Inc., a Las Vegas-based interior design firm, was recently retained by Dallas-based ClubCorp to remodel its Canyon Gate Country Club in Las Vegas at 2001 Canyon Gate Drive.
Phase one of the project will revamp the design of the front entry, formal reception lounge, boardroom, hallway, the club’s Lake View banquet room and its main floor area.
The project is expected to take 12 to 18 months to complete. This is the first interior design project at Canyon Gate contracted to a local firm.
Leslie Parraguirre, Las Vegas native and founder of Colours, said the design elements will focus on more contemporary lines and will include stone and wood.
“The classic transitional style we will implement will offer an updated look with more comfort for club members and guests,” said Parraguirre.
Colours has been in existence in the Las Vegas area for nearly 30 years and has won awards for some of its work on custom estate properties, commercial offices, restaurants and bars and model home merchandising.
ClubCorp owns more than 200 golf and country clubs, business clubs, sports clubs and alumni clubs across 26 states, the District of Columbia and other parts of the globe.
