The popular Women Who Mean Business event is moving to the fall.
For years, the Business Press has celebrated the best and brightest women entrepreneurs each spring. But this year, we’ve pushed it back to become a fall celebration.
There are several factors in the decision but the largest is the absense of our publisher Debbie Donaldson who is out on medical leave. The event has been one of her favorite duties and it really needs her touch.
Women Who Mean Business is one of those events that requires some lead time — for nominations, for judging, for writing stories and taking picture. And then there’s the matter of throwing a party. As the calendar rolled into spring, it became clear that staging this event in the summer would be a mistake. Too hot. Too many vacations. A fall celebration makes so much more sense.
Watch for details of the nomination process. We’ll build in a little extra time because of the schedule change.
Thank you for your support of this event and we’ll see you in the fall.
