▶ What do you REALLY do? I manage the risk of a commercial loan portfolio and underwrite commercial loan requests in excess of $1 million. In managing risk, I have to understand the client’s business and creditworthiness so I can help the bank make informed lending decisions.
▶ What’s the best part of your job: It’s both challenging and interesting. Since each borrower is different, I have to understand the various industries in which they operate. One week I can be working on a commercial airline company and the next I could be underwriting a convenience store chain.
▶ What accomplishment in the past year are you most proud of: I underwrote a $30 million loan request for a new bank customer. It was gratifying to not only get a big win for my team, but to also be a part of positive business growth in the community.
