Gina Bongiovi

▶ Company: Bongiovi Law Firm

▶ What do you REALLY do? I help entrepreneurs navigate the choppy waters of business ownership and do my best to keep them out of trouble. Clients call me their consigliere. Like Tom Hagen in” The Godfather,” we are trusted advisers who sit in the back of the room during important meetings and advise the family not to get into drug running. I mean, how to properly classify their employees.

▶ What’s the best part of your job: Seeing a client succeed, grow, prosper, knowing I played even the smallest role in helping them get there.

▶ What accomplishment in the past year are you most proud of: The Nevada International Women’s Forum awarded me the Carolyn Sparks Founder’s Award for the Entrepreneur Division.

▶ Where’s the best place to network: Dog park.

▶ Facebook or LinkedIn: LinkedIn, although I’m funnier on Facebook.

▶ Favorite off-work activity: Exploring Red Rock with my dogs

▶ What’s your favorite professional association, community or charitable involvement: My favorites are the Las Vegas Metro Chamber and the Rebel Business Network. I’m proud to say I helped several nonprofits get started — Dress for Success Southern Nevada, Vegas Shepherd Rescue, and Working K9 Rescue and still serve as general counsel to the animal rescues.

▶ What do you drive: I have a Mini Cooper and a 4Runner whose interior is covered in a thick layer of dog hair.

▶ Beer or wine: Wine, although not always.

▶ What do you want to be doing in 2025: More. Traveling more, running more, hiking more, cooking more, practicing yoga more, enjoying life more.

▶ What’s the best advice you’ve received: Breathe. Sometimes the simplest answers are the most effective.

▶ How do you define success: I consider success being happy the majority of the time. It doesn’t mean I stop striving, or lose my motivation to work harder, learn more, and keep growing. It just means I then have the energy and drive to do more. Misery begets laziness. Success begets more success. Success also means being able to buy something, even if it’s not on sale.
