A lawsuit stemming from an outbreak of tuberculosis in the neo-natal intensive care unit at Summerlin Hospital will be back in court Feb. 3
Clark County District Court Judge Kenneth Cory will be hearing arguments on whether to certify the case as a class action, consolidating suits on behalf of at least 25 people who tested positive for the lung disease.
The case stems from a May, 2013, episode in which a woman later found to have the contagious disease and her newborn twins were treated at Summerlin Hospital. The suit claims the hospital was negligent in allow at 25 people to be exposed to the disease.
The hospital has been seeking a summary judgment in the matter and Judge Cory has yet to rule on some of those issues.

Mock trial courtroom
Faith Lutheran Middle School &High School broke ground Jan. 30 on its Crusader Justice &Advocacy Mock Trial Courtroom.
The courtroom is part of a $4.5 million, 10,000-square-foot expansion of the school’s Justice &Advocacy academy at 2015 Hualapai Way. The expansion includes five classrooms as well as the mock courtroom, which is described as important training tool in the curriculum.
The courtroom will include an 8-foot screen and a 65” television for video presentations, multiple speakers and microphones to record competitions and debates. Completion is expected in July.
The Crusader Justice and Advocacy Mock Trial Courtroom is part of Build Faith, a $60 million project that includes the state-of-the-art Crusader Competition Center, expansion of facilities and eventually a STEM academy, aquatic center and a dedicated middle school.

Therapy room walls at Salt Room LV are lined with large Himalayan salt bricks while the floor is covered in Himalayan salt pebbles.
“For many, salt has been shown as an all-natural way to help relieve skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema, and a range of respiratory ailments including sinus infections, asthma, allergies and bronchitis,” Salt Room LV founder/operator Ava Mucikyan said in a statement.
