I’m really enjoying the teachings of Sadhguru. Most recently, “Inner Engineering | A Yogi’s Guide to Joy.” It’s a great juxtaposition to the busy life I lead as a business owner that is all about self-transformation, shifting your perspective and observing the world around you without letting it affect your sense of inner peace.
Las Vegas has a fascinating history of continuous evolution that has become its trademark and ethos. It has constantly reinvented and rebranded itself to become what it is today, one of the greatest entertainment meccas in the world. This re-emergence, resilience and rebranding are what most of us are called upon to do post-pandemic.
As Southern Nevada emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, the challenge will be to take the lessons learned, and to build upon a growing and diverse economy that is sustainable and competitive. Extremely important is providing the infrastructure and legislation that supports reinvestment in Southern Nevada, including housing, education, employment and small businesses. Las Vegas is resilient and philanthropic and will emerge even better from where we were before.
Imagining the possibilities for Vegas PBS and its ability to contribute in this post-pandemic world is a series of best-case scenarios that are always on my mind.
Over the last year, the lack of industry conferences and trade shows has caused major challenges for businesses of all types. Although we’re now increasing capacity for conventions, meetings and trade shows, companies may still struggle to obtain leads and other possible opportunities during these uncertain times. As we’re still in the process of returning to normalcy, organizations should continue to seek out alternative avenues for their business development needs.

The biggest challenge, I think, is how we are going to comeback as a community and emerge out of the implemented COVID restrictions. There are businesses and jobs that are not going to be re-created, even when the final restrictions are lifted and the tourists return.
